Cultural Unit

We are now looking for someone who wants to take a key role in a well-functioning and engaged youth activity. Mejeriet UNG is an established meeting place for young people aged 13–18 and is run by an experienced, creative, and close-knit team. We want to strengthen the operation with an additional youth leader who wants to contribute energy, ideas, and a strong commitment to youth work.

This is a full-time position where you will have great trust, clear responsibilities, and the opportunity to make a real difference in the daily lives of young people.

Your Responsibilities

As a youth leader at Mejeriet UNG, you will work in a competent team where quality, collaboration, and development are the focus. Together, you will plan, implement, and further develop the open leisure activities, always with the participation and influence of the youth as a starting point.

You are a present and clear adult who builds strong relationships with young people and creates a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment. An important part of the role is to coach and empower youth – both individually and in groups – as well as to take responsibility for activities and initiatives that engage the target group.

The operation is drug-free and aims to offer young people a meaningful leisure time where they have the space to grow, test ideas, and develop their interests.

The position also includes:

• work in Mejeriet's café operations
• service and support to visitors and tenants in the building
• collaboration with associations and other actors working for and with young people

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained youth leader or has other relevant education that the employer assesses as equivalent. You have good experience working with young people aged 13–18 and feel confident in the role of a leader in open leisure activities.

You are someone who takes initiative when needed and steps forward when the situation requires it. You are proactive, structured, and have the ability to drive activities and processes forward – while being responsive to the needs and perspectives of young people.

We consider it a significant merit if you have a personal special interest or area of expertise that you want to use in the operation, for example in culture, creativity, music, alternative sports, media, gaming, or similar.

You have high personal maturity, good collaboration skills, and thrive in an environment with high ambitions and clear expectations. You are comfortable using social media as part of your work and see them as a natural tool in your contact with young people.
